"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body."
I believe that we Christians as a whole all too often forget our family around the world that are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. We are cozy in our padded pews, air conditioning, nice cars, and big houses while most Christians in the world do not even have a safe place to worship or live.
Most gather for worship under the threat of death and torture if they are discovered. Some are shot, tortured, burned with fire and acid, beat, and killed just for being a Christian. How often are these brothers and sisters in our prayers? I can shamefully speak for myself and say that I pray for them far too less.
Let us make a covenant to keep these brothers and sisters in the faith in our daily prayers. Although America is currently anti-Christian in its policies, such as abortion, gay marriage, and getting anything that is Christian out of the public arena. Despite these unfortunate trends let's give God thanks for being in a country where we can worship Him without fear and opposition from the government.
Prisoneralert.com is a great place to write letters to our brothers and sisters that are in prison for being christians. Please stop by and write one of our family members that are persecuted for their faith in our Lord. Our persecution in America is nothing compared to theirs, let's keep them in our prayers. Persecution.com (Voice Of the Martyrs) is a great organization that through them you can give to persecuted christians around the world. They have all kinds of different ministries to help our brethren. Please take the time to stop by and check it out.
"For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard."
"The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."
